Housing Advice Needed (International)

Alright guys,

I'm an English exchange student who will be studying at UCSB next year and i've just got a couple of questions which i wondered if any of you could give me advice from a student perspective.

Firstly, has anyone had any experience of Tropicana Norte accomodation, and if so what are you opinions?

Also, how freely available is private housing in Isla Vista? Would you say it was possible for me to come over a few weeks in advance of term and be able to sort out a room?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I drove through Isla Vista yesterday with my son who is a prospective UCSB student and there were several dozen “For Rent” signs posted. I would imagine that rentals are harder to come by in high season (July and August), so I would recommend you go on-line and find a rental management contact to help you. Here is a facebook link to one we saw there: [Dean Brunner Rentals - Real Estate - Isla Vista, CA | Facebook](Facebook) I hope it helps.

get a cheaper pad with university housing your first year, meet your friends, then move in with em next year. craigs list is flooded with other options if thats not ur first choice.
