Is it hard to get housing at UTD? Is there substance-free housing?

Thanks.

Is it hard to get housing at UTD? Is there substance-free housing?

Thanks.

the demand for housing is going up, but if you apply early enough, there shouldnt be a problem. freshmen res halls are all substance-free as are the phase 8 apartments

bigred,

When you say apply early enough, how early is that? My son won’t really know where he’s headed until April, most likely, when all the financial aid offers are on the table.

Thanks!

I’m not sure about the exact timeline. I’m pretty sure it’ll be after April though

Thanks very much for the response!

For the housing application page on connect.studenthousing.com, could someone explain what “Property Residing At” means?

Thanks…

Last year my D applied early and then she decided to go somewhere else and UTD refunded her housing deposit. It was a pleasant surprise. The fresh housing there is new and very nice.

Apply as early as possible

Does anyone know about University Village and Waterview Park? By looking at those websites, there seem to be a lot of events held at University Village, but as for Waterview Park, they don’t say anything about social events. I’m a prospective transfer student, so I can choose both.

So if anyone know about those apartments, could you please tell me about them?

Thank you very much!

Waterview has social events too. Waterview does some contests where you can earn gift cards and stuff.

UV already has a waitlist from what I hear from my friends, so if you didnt apply yet, you might want to apply to waterview soon

bigred,

Are there not enough dorms for all the freshmen? Will some end up in the apartments? Are there ways to pick your roommates?

this year, some freshmen had to live in apts. next year, i dont think any will because of the new dorm opening. you can indicate who you want as a roommate on the housing application form

Someone at UTD can probably speak to this better than me, but I spoke to a representative at University Village who said at this point, freshman housing is still open, but continuing students have a waitlist.

^that’s correct

Thank you for the reply, bigreddawgie!
