housing dilemma (i am not asking about which dorm to stay in)

<p>I recently sent in my housing application and $30 fee (saturday, april 1 to be exact) and my preferences are as follows:</p>

<li>Birnkrant (single)</li>
<li>New (single)</li>
<li>North (single)</li>
<li>Birnkrant (double)</li>
<li>New (double)</li>
<li>North (double)</li>
</ol>

<p>I did not have a roommate preference and I JUST found out that my friend will be attending USC we would like to room together ONLY if I am unable to get a single. How would I work that out? The section on rooommates specifically says that we have to have the same buildings and rooms in the same order of preference. Sorry, this is getting a little hard to explain, but here is what I want to change to:</p>

<p>My NEW preferences:
Birnkrant Single, New Single, North Single, Century Single Bedroom, Cardinal Single Bedroom, Radisson Single Bedroom</p>

<p>My Friend’s preferences:
Century Single Bedroom, Cardinal Single Bedroom, Radisson Single Bedroom, Birnkrant Double, New Double, North Double.</p>

<p>Does anyone see what I am trying to do? What should I do? Sorry if this is confusing. Thanks in advance for the help.</p>

<p>When we met with the folks from USC when they were in HI on 4/1, we were told the ONLY way to be roommates with someone is if you turn in your forms at (or around) the same time & listed the SAME preferences & each other on your forms.
You can call housing to check, but I think it would be tough for you to get a single.</p>
