Sorry if this is a stupid question but I don't know the answer to it so...

I read that students accepted RD cannot request specific dorms, they can only request dorm types/styles. Does this mean you can only request whether you want an apartment style dorm or a traditional dorm and that's it, not the specific building? Also, does this mean RD students can request low-cost housing or not?

It's not a stupid question but it has been asked (and answered) several times. :) Yes, that's exactly what it means. Regular decision kids get to say traditional or apartment style. Early decision kids get to Rubin, Weinstein, Hayden, Brittany, 3rd North, Goddard, or Alumni. And yes, as an R.D. kid, you can request a low cost triple, just not what building it's in.

the only way you can "choose" a dorm is if you plan on rooming with someone who got in E.D and he/she happens to live in the dorm you want to live in too. Then you can get into the dorm you want to live in.

well like i said, if you can persuade that person to choose the dorm you want to live in, you'll get your dorm of choice b/c that person applied E.D and has a choice of dorms.
