<p>Which of the UC's offer on-campus housing for transfer students? I know UCSD does starting 2009 but don't know of any others. Thought it would make it easier to meet people since that's hard enough coming in as a transfer.</p>

<p>I know Cal does and UC Davis does not guarantee housing for transfers. Only current students upper-division students can live in the campus owned apartments. Transfers are stuck in dorms and it depends if they have spaces for you.</p>
<p>I think that UCSD's transfer housing got pushed back to 2010. At least that is what the counselor at UCSD told me when I asked her a couple months ago. It has something to do with the glider port counsel there protesting the new structure that they are building since it relatively tall for that area. If anyone else knows otherwise I would love to know.</p>

<p>Apartments are good(spacious) and cheap. But usually doesn't have the amenities that you might want. Dorms have good food(all you can eat), study lounges with internet, etc...</p>
<p>According to the 08-09 UC Booklet, Riverside and Santa Cruz guarantee housing for transfer for two years, Berkeley, Irvine, Los Angeles, Merced, and Santa Barbara for one, and Davis and San Diego have that ever-so-helpful "--" in the Transfers column. As the other posters have noted, the quality and cost of what's actually available varies. Also, I think the guarantee only applies to students who enter in the Fall and you should check each campus housing website for specific restrictions.</p>

<p>just about every uc offers housing for 1st year junior transfers, riverside guarantees for seniors too, others dont.</p>
