<p>If you are a freshman and are sure you beat the may 1st housing application deadline but haven't sent in the $250 housing guarantee fee.The deadline to pay it is may 31st and if you miss it,chances are you won't be assigned housing.copy paste the following terms of agreement to your U email ID and if you agree with the terms,send them in to <a href="mailto:housing@umn.edu">housing@umn.edu</a> </p>

<p>"I am requesting that my $250 Housing Guarantee Payment due date be
extended as it will be paid with funds from my financial aid award for the
upcoming semester or will be paid by myself or the person responsible for
my financial account along with my first billing statement after the
semester has begun. I agree that if I decide not to live on campus and
to cancel my housing contract with Housing & Residential Life, I will
cancel on or before August 11th. If I do not cancel by that date, I will
incur and be responsible for a $250 cancellation fee and an additional fee </p>
<p>not less than the assigned room rate for each day until Housing &
Residential Life is able to fill my assigned space with a student from the
waiting list. I understand that these fees will be billed to my student
account and that I will be responsible for the costs of collection if
these or other Housing & Residential Life fees are not paid."</p>
