Housing if I'm switching terms? From spring to summer?

I went on to the housing portal and since I applied for summer it is letting me do the summer housing $25 stuff.

As soon as they let students do the housing stuff, If I fully pay for summer would they let me reserve summer housing since it is most likely I'll be able to switch to summer?

Or am I pretty much screwed for on-campus housing once I am switched to Summer.

Seriously, I'm ready to fully pay for it.

I'm applying for the term switch tomorrow.

Just do the contract for Summer B and/or if they let you also the contract for Spring. After you are sure which term you are going, cancel the contract. That is what I did. I just cancelled the Summer B by saying that I switched terms.

They’ll let me do a contract for Summer B, even though I wasn’t accepted?

Also, I’m even willing to pay full now/pay the extra money for the upgraded dorms…

I was looking a year ago about term changes from spring to summer and everyone was freaking about dorms for the summer, why didn’t they just do this? Most of them said they had to do off campus housing.

I am not sure but I think so, however, for now try to do the one you are supposed to do (Spring) and as soon when they tell you the change for Summer, do the Summer Contract.

Last year, everyone saying they were full by the time of the term switch/or were put at the bottom of the list for even the nonair-conditioned dorms. Did they let you do the fall one even though you didn’t get in there yet for the term switch?

Yes, I did the contract for Fall and Summer B, both, and at the end I canceled Summer B and voila! And NO, the people that say they got a bad dorm was because they waited until the UF decision to do the Housing Contract.

Ok. Thank you so much!

My son was admitted to Spring 2012 and the housing department won’t even send us a contract until November 2011. How were you able to secure a contract for fall or summer?

I don’t think you will get a contract for Summer or Fall until they notify you that the term has been changed in April/May.

@gables79 I was accepted to Summer and later changed to Fall. And YES! I got both contracts while waiting for the term change, so if didn’t got the term change I would cancel the Fall contract and if I got the term change I would cancel Summer, and THAT is what I did, at the end I canceled the Summer Contract IDK if the system changed. Plus, I didn’t get accepted to Spring like your son! That changes everything.

Perhaps the Spring acceptance changes everything. At present they will not issue us a contract for summer or fall. Also means that no matter how early you sent in the housing reservation fee the pickings will likely be slim and forget about actually getting a room with a specific roommate.
