Question about living on campus..

Is it possible to live on campus only for the summer B term? I want to live on campus during the summer in order to get more adjusted to the environment and make friends but for the fall I would live to live at University House or Jefferson.

bump... does anyone know??

Yes. Don't know the specifics but I would assume you just cancel your contract for fall and apply for summer.

Since you have to fill out two contracts, I would guess that you could just do Summer B. Given the shortage in on-campus housing in the fall, and the excess in the summer, I can't imagine they'd try to force you to stay on campus in the fall. Call the housing office to check..

Just remembered......at this point incoming freshmen don't have fall contracts yet, so I would call housing and see how to just apply for summer.

I'm in the same situation: I just want Summer B Housing, yet as an "incoming freshman" I have to fill out a contract for Summer B AND Fall/Spring 09.

In the agreement, the only way you can cancel is you pay the deposits for Summer B AND Fall/Spring 09, HOWEVER, you can cancel your Fall Contract before May 1st for Fall and be charged with a $35 or $50 fee (it depends if you're incoming or continuing). I believe the fee will be subtracted from the Fall/Spring 09 $200 deposit you sent to them, and they'll refund you the rest. As for the last part, I'm only assuming and I plan on calling them to clarify.

Off topic, but is summer B in 09 or 10? Why do they call it B anyways? Haha thanks :)

2009.

There is summer A, B, and C. A and B are 6 weeks and C (A+B) is 12 weeks. Depending on the content of the class they classes can be A/B or C. Gen ed classes are usually A/B. Classes such as microbiology, physics, biochem are all summer C classes.

This year:
A- May 12 -June 20
B- June 27 -Aug 8
C - May 12 - August 8.

And then you go on to the fall semester etc right?

Yes, then you start fall classes Aug 25.
