I registered for housing midday the day it became available and got number 2197. I got the Honors Program, so I put Landis and Gilchrist as my top two choices. Will it be possible to get one of these halls with my priority number?

It’s possible. Landis holds just over 400 people, while Gilchrist holds 229; in total, there’s about 630 spots between the two.

The question shouldn’t be whether it’s possible, but rather what the likelihood is. And really, no one really knows. Your priority number may change as the Housing department goes through and removes people that either are not attending FSU, did not pay their deposit, or do not send in their parental signature forms (if needed).

I would suggest though that you not limit yourself to wanting to live in one of those two locations. You’re pretty much guaranteed a suite-style dorm at least, so you would be smart to put others on your priority list that you would be okay with living in, because Honors housing can fill up pretty quickly. It’s just one of those things that seems to be year-to-year. One year, Landis and Gilchrist will be really popular buildings for people in Honors to apply to, and the spots will go fast, and in some years they aren’t as popular.
