Housing - Off campus / Graduate

Hiya...

I know this is just going to be a shot in the dark...

But...does anyone know anything about where graduate students typically live in Madison (or outlying subarbs)?

I'm going to be looking for a house (to rent or buy if down payment isn't too much) preferably, or an apartment (with W/D hookups a must...I have a W/D already...). I also will need parking for two cars...

Anyone know good places to look while I'm waiting to visit my potential department next week?

Thanks!

Many live just east of the Capitol in either the Jennifer/Willy Street area or in the Johnson Street area. Others go south to the Vilas area. There are usually lots of apts and some houses for rent but most houses go by August 15. The apt market is soft with many new units and older funky stuff.

agreed with barrons. I live in the vilas area. Surprisingly calm, considering it's only a few blocks south of the stadium.

Here's a project that might work for you.

Excellent!

Thanks for the link barrons! Definately something to think about!

Also, thanks for the other replies as to which neighborhoods graduate students typically live in. Gives me a lot to look into before my visit!

in a place called Eagle Heights
