housing preferences

I just spent an hour looking at all the different residence halls, checking out the video floor plans and amenities. I then filled out the housing application and found no option to choose residence hall preferences, such as 1st option, 2nd option, 3rd option. Does that mean we have no say whatsoever in what residence hall we're assigned to?

yup altho they're starting a new thing where u can choose to have a single as a frosh. theyre all in a specific building. i wanna say turman or trimble...

did you fill out that short questionaire with random questions like 'do you sleep with music on?' if you didnt there is a section where you get to list the type of dorm that you want in order (ex. co-ed by floor, triple, etc.). im guessing that if you pick co-ed by floor for example, you will probably end up in Complex which is a co-ed by floor dorm. if you pick triple you will probably end up in McTyire which is one of two or three dorms with triples. this is just my guess so dont count on it.

btw did anyone get like a package from emory about the housing? cuz i havent received anything and im hoping im not missing out on anything.

i do not have anything regarding housing, I believe u get it after you tell them you're coming.

When is the deadline to apply for housing?

http://www.emory.edu/HOUSING/SELECTION/fy_calendar.html

Does anybody know when emory sends housing info in the mail? Im kinda sick of this online crap.

i'm pretty sure scholars get to pick where they house. a lot of scholars stay in alabama.

First year scholars do not get housing priority; there are a few (probably around 5-8?) in Alabama this year but not because they are Scholars and many freshman Scholars live elsewhere.

the deadline is the end of may and they start sending out assignments june 6. they send something in the mail, but it's just a guide on how to use the website. i'm pretty sure you're gonna have to do it online.

Does anyone know how the floors are divded for Dobbs and Longstreet (Single Sex floor, coed by floor, or coed by room)?

dobbs is coed by room, longstreet has two single sex floors and two coed by hall (right side girls, left side boys)

What about complex and alabama?

both of those are coed by floor
dunno what turman is, trimble and mctyeire are coed by hall, means is single sex floors

http://www.emory.edu/HOUSING/UNDERGRAD/coed.html

no, complex is single-sex by floor

oh yeah thats what i meant, alabama is single sex too

How do I select a residence hall on the housing application? Can I?

"How do I select a residence hall on the housing application? Can I?"
