I have faxed them my housing contract but on the housing status check page it says that I do not owe anything. I thought that you have to pay $300 with the housing contract? I never paid the $300 but on the page it says that I do not owe anything. The only things that I have paid for are the housing application ($50) back in February and the enrollment deposit ($200). Am I suppose to owe anything or is this a mistake perhaps?

you need to pay the $300 before the contract expires, so you still got time.

but yea, it probably is a mistake, you still need to pay the $300.

I can’t pay it though because it won’t allow me too. It says that I don’t owe anything so I can’t even select anything to pay because nothing comes up.

you can send in a check along with the contract by mail.

I would rather pay online (less chance for fraud and the check getting lost, etc.). On the What I Owe page it says that I do not owe anything. I am really getting worried. How can I pay the $300 deposit if I don’t owe anything? Do you think that it will show up after they receive my contract (I faxed it two days ago)? What happens if I don’t pay the $300 by my deadline which is April 2? I am very worried and confused.

email and ask the housing office: housing@austin.utexas.edu

same thing happened to me, i told my dad about it and he said they mightve taken it out of my financial aid cause i got a lot of grants/scholarships

yea, josephql is probably right

"Fee Waivers

Some first-time applicants qualify for application fee waivers based on financial need. If you were approved for an admissions application fee waiver, then your housing application fee will be automatically waived. You don’t need to do anything to claim your waiver. Simply apply for housing, and your fee will be waived."

that also applies to the housing contract fee as well. some students are eligible for financial aid deferment

Yeah I emailed them and thats what they told me. They said that I qualified for financial aid deferment and that I will be able to pay the $300 later on after I have received my financial aid package. I’m wondering why it is taking them this long to process it. I submitted my FAFSA back in February.
