Housing questions

Which is the best University Housing hall and which is the best Private Housing hall?

Is there a big difference between the university housing halls and private housing halls?

And if I decide to go to Illinois in April, will it be too late to get the popular halls such as Bromley or Six-Pack?

I dunno much about private housing, but i can speak of University housing from a semester's worth of experience.

There really is no such thing as the best dorm, for the most part (quality wise) they're pretty similar except that some are abit newer than others. Each dorm has its own advanatges, you could look up earlier threads about this.

I lived at Weston in the six-pack, and had an awesome experience, definately better than anything Private housing has to offer.
Weston is an LLC in the 6-pack which generally dosnt fill up that quick. I sent in my deposit in late April and got in. But, if your applying then and want to live in the 6-pac, Weston Exploration LLC, and Garner LEADS LLC is probably the only way.

Best University Hall depends on what your looking for. People say that ISR and Allen Hall are the best because they have a more homey type feeling to them, "better" food, and ISR has A/C. Others say Six-Pack because its extremely social.
Best Private Housing: Personally I would say Illini Tower because it really is nice in every aspect. I also heard Presby Hall was pretty good as well or the new Newman Hall addition.
It's best to decide quickly or else your luck will run out. everyone else will most likely be choosing the six pack or ISR and the last thing you would want is to be stuck in FAR/PAR.
