I was interested in the Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) floor on New/North. How does that make it different from the other residence halls on campus? Also, what would be a benefit of living on a special community floor?

If anyone lives on this floor.. how is it like?

what would be a benefit of living on a special community floor?
since I have a son I can’t address your first question, but choosing a special interests floor gives you a greater than random opportunity to meet more serious students . He was on the Outdoors floor at Pardee and met some great students whose interests were more aligned with the idea of “healthy living”, respecting the environment and other people, which meant there ended up being very little drinking and throwing up by guys on that floor. Being on one of the special interest floors also seems to reduce the chance that you’ll have a floor full of typical noisy freshman wanting to party. That can make it much easier to study in your room. The Ra’s also set up outside activities for the special interest floors.
