Housing

I was admitted to the class of 2017 and was wondering what upperclassmen do for housing. The university says that it does not guarentee housing for all four years. Can you still live on campus as an upperclassmen or are you forced to live off campus which seems like it could be extremely expensive.

It is still possible to live on campus but you need to have some luck with the housing lottery. That being said, the university is expanding housing so you may have a better chance when your senior year rolls around.

I live off campus and pay $1150+utilities a month. It’s not drastically more expensive. I like the amenities better, actually, and it’s quieter.

Is that the total cost or your share with roommates?

Also, when calculating financial aid for a year you’ll be living off campus, is Financial Aid’s estimate of expenses reasonable.

That’s the cost for me :p. Probably you could swing as low as $800/month. DC housing is expensive!

I’m not sure how financial aid calculates off campus living.
