Housing

I was wondering where should I stay if I was planning to be an International Relations major at the College of Arts and Sciences?
Where would be the most convenient?

The campus isn't that big. Any dorm on campus will be within a 10 minute walk.

As a Freshman, expect most of your classes to be concentrated among GFS, VKC, or THH. Therefore, the McCarthy Quad dorms would be most conveniently located (Birnkrant, New/North, Pardee, Marks Hall/Tower, Radisson). But as momofchris said, even the other dorms like Parkside and Fluor are only about 10-15 minutes away walking, even less by bike.

Which building(s) is closest to Marshall?

Trojan is probably the closest, followed by Pardee (then Marks Tower/Hall). But New/North and Birnkrant are only like a minute extra walk.

dragon17, that would also be McCarthy Quad bldgs. Marks and Trojan Hall (which I forgot to add to my previous post) is directly across the street from Marshall's Popovich Hall.

I think only MBA students take classes at Popovich. Marshall undergrads take courses at Bridge and Hoffman. Marshall students correct me if I'm wrong.

Proto: You're right.

Thanks. So Marshall is pretty much located at the corner of Exposition & Figueroa...?

It's on Exposition right across from the Rose Garden.

Thanks. Very helpful.

Thanks ^_^
that was helpful. Another question that i have would be that if I want to stay at Parkside Suites, would it be easier to get housing there if i was an international student?

Not really, just send in the app early and you should get it.

do you think we have a pretty good shot at getting our top choice (birnkrant) if we sent in the housing app the first week of february? like... 90~% chance?

Good grief, no offense intended here but if you sent your housing app back in February, then why are you worried about not getting your FIRST choice!?!?!?!?

Seriously, if you don't get your first choice Sarah, then I don't know what this world has come to. Just don't worry about it.

good point...i'm sending mine out tomorrow and i'm not too concerned (edit: well, later today as it's 1:30 AM)

I agree, I sent my housing app. in a week before our INTENT TO ENROLL was due and I got my first choice.

redski59: haha sorry i'm just paranoid.. but thats good news! : )

I sent mine around end of March and I'm not worried @ all. I really hope I get New/North or Birnkrant.
