How am I doing in HS so far? Also a couple of question abt. College.

Hi, I know this post may seem a bit stupid, but I’ve always been interesting in colleges also I would like to know if I’m on a good track In HS. So, I am a freshman and I have a unweighted GPA of 3.952 and a weighted GPA of 4.524.

I take:
Algebra II H
Chemistry H
English I H
Chemistry H
AP Comp. Sci. Principles
AP Human Geo
TV & Film Production (for my art credit)

So, how am I doing? Personally, I think I’m doing fine as I’m a mid-A student who occasionally gets A-'s but I just want to have some input from people who are more experienced in HS.

EC’s:
Varsity Weightlifting
Ted-Ed Club (it’s like TEDx) (I am shooting photography for the club)
International Relations Club (Model UN)
BETA Club (it’s an honors society)
Photography Club
Investment Club
I also have a small reselling business ($2,500+ profits per year)

Also, a few q’s about college apps:
Does having immediate legacy (for ivy league) increase chances of getting in?
Does applying early-admission increase chances of getting in?
Does having a non-english (in my case, Russian) first language help in admissions?

Before anyone comments anything like “you are worrying too much,” or “focus on the present and not the future,” I am simply interested if I’m doing well or not and just want a few q’s answered. I know I’m still a freshman but I always dream about attending college, thanks!

So far? Freshman with this much interest. YOU ARE ON THE WAY TO SUCCESSFUL HIGH S, COLLEGE AND BEYOND!

Each year 1 million seniors apply to higher learning. Looking at your accomplishments so far, I’m guessing you are ONE of 100,000 freshman asking the same question. Between now to start of senior year, please separate yourself from the the rest.

Your chance to IVY will greatly increase with almost perfect PSAT/SAT/ACT (1590/34), top 2% in your class, Take all AP and don’t wait your Summer time. And other criteria to Put You Over The Top. Essays, Interview, EC, Volunteer, Work.

Good Luck!

I would take a foreign language instead of AP Human Geo and I would take a regular history.
Legacy helps a tiny bit, but you still have to have the grades.

Early admission often helps a bit. ED helps the most, but don’t do that if you need to compare financial aid offers.

I don’t think a different mother tongue helps/hurts.

ooooh, I just noticed a mistake. I wrote Chemistry H twice, one of those was supposed to be Spanish II H.
