Hey guys, I don’t know how many of you that remember me are still here but I just wanted to check up and see how you guys were doing. I transferred to LA this year(it can be done!) and so I feel bad I haven’t been active here which is what I wanted to do.

But anyway, about me, I’m just trying to get adjusted to commuting from home(I live pretty close). It really is a totally different experience and I loved how close all the apartments were to campus in Davis(for the same price of a close apt in Davis you’d have to live 5 miles off campus here), I miss that. Not to mention the complete lack of traffic in Davis(except for the slowness every now and then on the train underpass).

Take advantage of free sporting events! You literally can’t get into any games here without paying or having a season ticket. It’s a pain in the ass! (Btw, Davis is playing LA in basketball at the end of this month, I don’t know who’s side I’m going to be on :p). And I just missed the friggin’ new stadium opening! I was the one holding up the webcam queue checking out the progress everyday when it was under construction!

What else, oh yeah, Davis is the most convenient university ever! Cherish how you have big bikeable streets and parking spaces RIGHT in front of buildings. The freshman 15 here is the 15lbs you lose from walking around all the sloping terrain.

And now to something big, the academics here(in terms of lecture classes) don’t feel much different from Davis. I spent two years at Davis so I know it very well, and after having taken three upper division science classes here I don’t think any Aggie would have a problem doing well. The only difference I see are students generally have more varied activities extra-curricularly(a word?) but they’re definitely not “smarter.”

Oh, also, I like Shields better than Powell Library :). But Ackerman Union(equivalent of the MU) trumps the MU, in all honesty. The Administration definitely needs to upgrade the MU.

Anyway, I’ll add stuff as I remember them but feel free to ask any questions or whatever. I’ll always be an Aggie at heart :p. Go Ags!
