How are my chances looking for Cal States and UCs?

It’s that time of year where the next batch of students stress over apps and I’m one of them, based on these stats how are my chances looking for UCs and Cal States?

Freshman GPA: 2.5
Sophomore GPA: 3.6 (AP Euro)
Junior GPA: 4.1 (AP Chemistry - AP Spanish 4)
Senior GPA (current): 4.4 (AP Physics - AP Literature - AP Calculus AB)

SAT: Aiming for around the 1200+ range

EC:

  • Engineering Club
  • Science Club
  • Volunteer at Library
  • Chess Club

Assuming a 3.8 CSU GPA and 1200 SAT, that puts your CSU index around 4200 which should qualify you for most CSUs.

As for UCs, UCM, UCR and probably UCSC - the others are going to be a stretch.

All of the CSUs except CPSLO are likely to admit you. Apply broadly and you will have several viable options when the time comes.

I don’t know your interests so i will just say. SDSU, CSULB, Sonoma, and Chico represent dramatically different college experiences… apply, visit the campuses and see what you think.

I got into UCSB

Congratulations with an excellent option.

Congrats!
