Major GPA: 4.00
Applying to: UC Berkeley, UCLA, USC, UC Davis
Prereqs: All but one which will be done by the spring of 11' for Davis and Berkeley. Done for UCLA/USC
IGETC: Done
TAG/TAP: UC Davis TAG

EC's:
1. Volunteer at a adult day care center and at a mental care facility, helped Alzheimer patients with mental exercises like playing board games, helping them do art work, assisted the physical therapist in leading exercises with patients with all kinds of mental difficiencies, assisted in walking and physical therapy with patients.
2. Volunteer at a telephone reassurance program, talking to isolated older adults who need someone to talk to and provide emotional support.
3. General and Social Psychology tutor in the summer of 08'. Chemistry tutor during the spring of 09' led beacon tutoring in an integrated organic/biochem class. Helped out fellow students mentally raise their grades from failing to passing grades.

Essays: 9/10. For prompt 1 talked about how I got interested with my major by talking to a man with Alzheimers who died a few days after we started talking. Talked about what I gained from my experiences in my ec's.
Prompt 2 talked about my dedication to my academics and how it will lead me to achieving my goals as a psychologist. Told about how I came back from barely graduating high school and how I overcame that by going to school and being determined.

What schools are my safeties and matches?

What major? It sounds like your record is impeccable man. :)

psychology (Berkeley, UCLA) and human development (UC Davis). I know I had a rough start at first but rebounded “with authority”

i’ve heard that story so many times.

Not to sound rude (though it’s going to come across as such), you’ve posted your stats and have asked to be chanced multiple times; each time being given a slew of responses. Is there an answer in particular you’re looking for?

What would be my match and safety schools

You call having a 3.5 your first 2 semesters a rough start? Yea ok whatever.

I do because during this time, I did not know how to study because as a high schooler, I graduated with a 1.9 and after that, I came straight to my community college to “redeem” myself.

UCSC/Davis - in most likely

UCLA- maybe (avg acceptance gpa: 3.78) so you have a great shot of getting in.

Cal- maybe (not sure what the avg gpa here is).

Honestly, no one can give you a straight out flat answer with UCLA or Cal. There are times people get rejected with a 4.0, there are times they get accepted. Just wait a few months and you’ll find out anyways.

Dude as a fellow Psych student you’re one of my boys/rivals but seriously… you’ve asked this 5-10 times a month since I joined… please, stop asking. You’re going to be in everywhere. You’re golden, okay? You’re FINE. Your GPA is fantastic. If you had TAP I’d be blowing my brains out right now cos you’d be MORE than fine. Relax. You’re worrying about nothing. Seriously.

Respectfully.

@xviral its usc not ucsc

@itachirumon, i am coming down with a case of transfer anxiety :/

I’ll stop asking

@Pinoiako - So am I but getting constant transfer chances isn’t gonna help that. Just close your eyes and slog though it. It’s all you can do.

The hardest class he’s taken on there is introduction to chemistry

runs

others include human anatomy and physiology, general biology, and microbiology (I was a nursing major)

Intro to chem I was inorganic chem and intro to chem II was ochem/biochem all for allied health majors.

Other classes included General biology, Anatomy and physiology and microbiology.

was a nursing major

Oh, I don’t know about USC. I misread it as UCSC not enough sleep lol.

ponders how funny it would be if Pino is a spring admit and has to wait a whole other semester

^^ What I had to do with equal transfer anxiety lol.

your first semester might hurt your chances.
