As a rising senior I have my last shot at the SAT in October. I will be pretty busy this summer interning and taking some classes to fulfill health/p.e. requirement at my school but I plan and seeing my score improve from 2080 (CR 700 W 710 M 670) to 2250+ (hopefully CR 750 W 800 M 700).

I already have the BB, but I've gone through almost all the tests so I'll be buying 10 Real Tests and a math workbook since it's my weakest score (which one is recommended)?

What are some strategies that can help achieve those scores? How is everyone else studying/practicing for the test?

i got a 2030 and want a 2150 + but i honestly dont feel motivated to do anything this summer. Yankees game + ps3 + already taken 10 practice tests= no studying.

But seriously, what am i supposed to do after finishing the blue book? Can the third edition come out already. I just want practice tests!!! And by the way, my strongest score is math and my weakest is writing. How can i improve from a 640 in writing?

Learn the rules! The writing section becomes unbelievably easy after you know all of them! Someone on CC made a very helpful post, I think it was “16 most common errors on the SAT.” They test the same ones repeatedly, and many times you cannot rely only on your ear. My score in practice tests has already gone up a couple points after I realized that. As for the essay, look at the post here called “How to write a 12 essay in 10 days.” It’s very helpful and it works.

What are your secrets for math?

Can you link to the first thread you’re talking about? TIA

Well in math i got a 740. Practicing and not panicking when trying to answer a question that you are having trouble with is important.

sat studying is very simple, people just over complicate it… all you have to do is take as many official collegeboard practice tests as you can…

For math just slow down and think about the logical way to answer a question. I got an 800 on math but only a 620 on cr and writing, any tips for those?

Just got my June SAT scores and I can’t say I was thrilled about them. Any other specific plans or tips? Good prep books?

Is it best to take the practice tests in the college board official book? Or does any practice test out of any prep book work as well?

I didn’t take one test out of the blue book but I used a different book, which I believed was harder (it was actually a book for a test prep course that I borrowed from a friend), so I think any, mind you it should be acclaimed, book would be fine

i really need a quick way to get my reading and writing scores up. I’ll definitely take a look at that “16 errors…” page for writing. But how do I get my reading scores up? I’m around a 650 in Reading and a 670 in Writing. I’d like to improve both of them by a hundred points each. Any advice will help! Ty.
