How bad is your school? [Top the poster above you]

Someone spray painted the concessions on pot day, someone broke in last year and vandalized it, some of the football team couldn’t play in the play offs because they got busted drinking at a party, a freshman made a supposedly 200 page book similar to the “burn book” from Mean Girls. But it had pictures of peoples deaths. People came to turnabout drunk a year ago. Assisstant principal got fired for having an affair with another treacher and a gym teacher married a student. All of those students are stupid. But we have more smart kids than stupid kids, so they make up for it. Our school is actually really good academically because of the smart kids. Every year we have people who get into the Ivies.

3/4 of the schedules sent out to students of my school this year are incorrect and they won’t know until they see that the first day of school that their schedule isn’t what they thought. My school starting this year only offers AP Art History, Debate 3, and Frency 4 this year as the only weighted (non-regular) classes for 7th period and my school has 7 classes. Plus there are 4 periods of classes like Art Hist so they can’t all get 7th period and whoever doesn’t is going to have to have a regular class for 7th and it’s going to be chaos mhm? I’m a senior and not taking a full schedule but srsly if I had to have a regular 7th period, it’d probably be like floral design. They also aren’t even offering health 7th period this year so you may get forced into regular health 4th period and then still have to take another regular class for 7th.

Our old principal was an ex-prostitute/ex-heroin addict.

Hallways/classrooms didnt have ceilings (as in nothing covering utilities overhead)

oh yeah and a rape case involving two special education students.

^ We’ve had multiple rape cases.

^I meant that case as one that was particularly notable, not the only one.

We’ve apparently had a lot of crazy stuff happen at my school, but mostly before I came to it. My elder sibling has told me about some of it.

One of the kids stabbed and killed some other kid.
Some kids were caught in the bathroom being “naughty”. The girl apparently claimed her boyfriend was raping her so she wouldn’t get in trouble.
One kid brought a gun to school and was like showing it to people or something.

^Those happened when I wasn’t there though. My school sucks in general though, but it’s apparently not as bad as some of yours.
Avg. SAT is ~1530.
Of the ~350-400 kids who graduated, only ~240 kids are going to higher education, with ~140 kids going to community colleges.
1 person is going to Georgetown, 1 to UMass Amherst, 9 to UVA, 8 to W&M.
My school apparently hasn’t sent anyone to HYPSM in 5-10 years at least.
2/3 of my school speaks English as a second language.

The bathrooms at my school are constantly locked because people are caught smoking pot and shooting dice in them.

The security guards hit on all the girls.

One of the ninth grade geometry teachers was fired for threatening to slit a kid’s throat.

There’s a 60% dropout rate.

I don’t know … there are a few more that I’m not remembering.

A teacher in my school got raped and robbed and was later diagnosed with HIV - she continued by informing the entire school community during a ceremony.

A few girls got high and started playing with the dumbwaiter in their house which lead to the decapitation of one of them.

My principal was baking cookies one day when the oven burst into flames, burning over 3/4ths of her body…the worst thing is that people now say she ‘came from hell’.

that last one is just plain wrong.

I had an American Government professor who shouted “I’M GOING TO SEVER YOUR MOTHER****ING HEAD OFF!” at my friend, to demonstrate what was and was not protected by free speech. But the class loved him, and it was apparent that he was joking after a second. Later in the course, we found out that he took the line from a Mafia documentary.

Oh, during that same lesson, he wrote a long graphic comment on the board (to the effect of “your mother is a whore”) as a part of teaching us what was and was not protected by free speech.

These are so hilarious.

I go to a pretty nice school, but at my friend’s school, these boys were like bullying this kid and sprayed him with axe and then lit him on fire.

Freshman have on campus lunch, so I’m forced to listen to their bells during fourth period, all of which fool me into thinking it’s our lunch. It saddens me when my growling stomach cannot be pacified.

We’ve had people stabbed while on campus.

^We have multiple fights including those that involved black men with chains. We also had a kid bring a gun to school and narrowly miss shooting himself on the bus, and then he ran away, and got caught, now he’s in Prison. My school also gives Asians their schedule if they ask, and people who don’t ask get them like Saturday or some crap. Once they make them, send them idiots.

^ I can see a large amount of people that went to my school on the streets, or hear about them in jail.

My school is so bad that when I went to the counselor’s office today asking for info on the work permit stuff romani was sure any respectable counselor would have, my counselor just shrugged and giggled that she had, like, no idea what that stuff was. Did she have another source in this school for it? Um, noooo…?

Gosh.

English is the second language of over half the students. Most after graduation attend community college, or do nothing.
Freshman year around 450 students enroll it gradually drops until senior year where there are about 200 left, most are drop outs. Oh also my high school had one of the highest pregnancy rates in our state. Go Us!

The dark rooms are more or less teen clubs.
Some classrooms use toilet paper for tissues.
The recycling bins get used as trash cans. The teacher in charge of it asked the janitors to stop using them as trash cans, so then they hid them in the most random parts of the school.
My school has spare change contests between the grades, where you need to get the most coins but least dollars for your grade to win. If you happen to drop anything that resembles a coin, there’s a good chance you might get hurt trying to pick it up.
The bathroom walls and desks are basically message boards without the Internet. I heard they’re painting over a lot of stuff dark colors this summer to make it hard to write on stuff.

But overall, I love my school. I’m just nitpicking random details. :stuck_out_tongue: And it’s not as bad as most of the schools here.

And do stories from private K-8 schools count? :P

What’s sad is that a lack of hygiene is a problem everywhere…

Let’s hear them!
