How bad is your school? [Top the poster above you]

Every year, around 750 freshmen enroll at our school. By senior year there are only around 200.

In our school there is a total divide between IB-students and non- IB students. On one hand there are around 50 students with GPAs above 3.95. From there, there is a sharp drop to 2.0-2.5s.

2 faculty members have gone to jail for sexual relations with students in the last 3 years.

Sometimes our fags spoil the tea.

my school gives laptops to all students and some students peel the labels off and say they “came” off

^…so ?

People say discriminatory sh** all the time. It is like it’s somewhat acceptable if it doesn’t apply to themselves. And some of these kids are the children/relatives of famous sports team coaches, politicians, school and business owners…

This isn’t really that bad; some of this stuff is really crazy, but:

This one teacher had a rep for getting with his TAs (in my school, HS kids TA). He actually married one of his TAs like as soon as she got out of HS… he was 40+, she was 18… and he still teaches here.

This is just kinda funny, but a girl ate two pot brownies at school at like 9am. Then she threw up in front of our assistant principal, and was acting totally high, and got suspended for like a week… . Also I heard about this one kids who was doing shrooms and like jumped off a building and got legit arrested by the police (handcuffs and everything). He’s on crutches now cuz he broke something. I can just imagine: “How’d you do that to yourself!!!” “Uh–I jumped off a building…”

sometimes, when the football team is mad, they throw underclassmen in the brook by the school

Well at my school this kid got expelled for selling drugs (harder than weed) but he’s back this year. People have had sex in the auditorium and at a basketball game (during the game). We only have drug dogs come in occasionallly. There are fights just about everyday. There is a huge drug ring. And my school is notorious for making facebook pages to make fun of people (like a page with a whole bunch of girls tagged in pictures and all the people they’ve had sex with listed). At the middle school that feeds this school, a couple kids got kicked out for doing ecstacy in the bathroom. There is this HUGE divide between Honors/AP kids and TP/CP kids. Like the Honors kids are the only reason our school is so high in state rankings. People generally segregate themselves, and it is not at all uncommon to see confederate flags flying on trucks. Thats pretty much all I can think of right now.

Oh, and if your not an ultraconservative republican and happen to wear an Obama shirt to school, people will think your a communist muslim and refuse to speak to your and generally treat you like crap

–Only about 60% of the people in my school speak fluent English.

–There are only 7 AP classes available…my 4’s were the highest anyone scored (except Spanish speakers who got 5’s on the AP Spanish exam)

–Class of 2011 started out with 600+ students. Now there are 206…and ONLY 101 passed the NJ state test needed to graduate o_O…so only about 100 students will be allowed to walk during graduation so far.

–I got a 1950 SAT and that was the highest…and everyone thinks I’m a super genius be/c of it -_-

–I have a 4.0 GPA and I can’t remember the last time I really studied for a high school test. (for mental stimulation, I take classes at the local community college)

–In all, few people in my school really give a damn about their education. It’s a hard place to stay motivated in.

omg, this is horrible stuff

And to top it off, your school is in the US?

i go to magnet school so its bad in the sense of the kids all think theyre good and most actually are only decent

while reading all of these high school stories, i laughed, i was scared, but mostly i was sad most of y’all have to go through such unsafe conditions.

for my grade school:
kids got molested outside of my elementary school
and one classmate was expelled for threatening to kill the class in 6th grade
another classmate stabbed my other classmate with a screwdriver too
~so much for gifted and talented education. pft~
and a girl was pregnant at, what, 12

for my middle school:
meh… just a lot of fights. like, a lot.
some kids urinated into a gatorade bottle and let numerous people drink from it.
some dudes rubbed dog feces into the P.E. water fountains. suddenly many people were sick for the following months… i snitched on them but they didn’t get into trouble.

for my high school:
50% of the student body are on the free/reduced lunch program. though that may not be a big deal, my county is known to be very rich. haha!

some girl was rolling and then passed out in front of admins… gg.
i see people taking e during class… some teachers just sit at their desks and don’t teach so it’s really easy to get away with just poppin’ a pill
(ecstasy is the most popular and cheapest around here… all of the “Others”/non-AP-kids go to raves and stuff LOL.)
a whole club was banned since they smoked weed in their advisor’s classroom

people had sex on the prom dance floor
freshmen have sex in our library restroom

my friend had an std as a freshman

one security guard had a relationship with a student
some teachers make it obvious they are checking out girls and sometimes call them hot

pales in comparison to all of yours, but eh, pretty risque for the quaint suburbs

Eh. I kind of reposted this from another thread, but here goes:

There are 5 pregnant white chicks in school and ones dating the others ex boyfriend, so they fought about it in one of our buildings lobbies.

14 kids got 180 today for fighting about who’s Big Texas, Skittles, Caprisun etc “enterprise” started first (basically, some guys are selling ****loads of food, candy and drinks on the low).

Some kids who fought over beer a while back fought again today during club period; one girl was caught with a weed necklace (apparently someone threw it at her and a teacher saw).

Apparently, some guys are now selling signed excused slips for $30 each.

We have a beer-drinking club (the Anheuser-Busch Club) that runs around shirtless with our flag at football games (:D)

500 people got assigned ISS in one week. how the administrators handled this, I have no clue.

Highest PSAT score among the black population was a 167 (which was me).

There was a bank robbery directly across the street and we had a lock-down.

Some freshmen got caught having sex in the bathroom last year. Also, some sophomore and his freshman girlfriend did the same thing; the guy is now at military school.

We only have 7? AP classes available, but we have IB and the teachers worship it and treat the IB students like gods.

My counselor hates every single (I’m not exaggerating) black person in our class of 507 (which started out as 700 lol) and pays no mind to them; thanks to her, my Governor’s school app did not get sent off in time and she gave me a nasty look when I initially handed it to her. She didn’t believe I was “qualified” enough, even though I’m in the top 6% and one of the top bassoonists + tenor saxophonists in our state’s orchestra, jazz band and concert band.

A geometry teacher is in jail for having sex with a junior.

^ what is ISS?

^ In school suspension.
It’s like detention, but for the entire school day.

The first time the drug dogs came this year, I think 85% of the classrooms searched did in fact have drugs in them.

My school is located across the street from THE drug hot spot in my city. If the nearest meth lab exploded, it might take out the front office and science building.

We have our own security officers that smoke with the stoners. They’re super cool. Totally look the other way when you cut class.

For two years, we had a Nazi for a counselor that didn’t let girls wear skirts or shorts above their knees. Now we don’t have a dress code and you could come to school in lingerie and not be sent home (I swear, this actually happens).

Our school got put on lock down because a man across the street tried to slit his wifes’ throat and then ran onto the campus.

A kid was stabbed at homecoming last year.

My sister’s friends were robbed at gunpoint after a basketball game her freshman year.

Someone broke in and stole $5000 worth of food from our cafeteria.

I see a rat at least once a month. In the classrooms and the cafeteria.

People don’t have sex in the bathrooms at my school, just outside, behind the buildings…

We had to fire our marching instructor for sleeping with a student.

But its not all bad. We offer a ton of AP classes and we have a few really great teachers.

yups in the heart of NJ. sooooo many new students in my school come straight from Mexico, Dominican Republic, etc without ever knowing English before hand.

oh and another one:

–WE HAVE METAL DETECTORS!!! It doesn’t get any worse than that shyt.

–about 2 months ago, someone broke into the theatre department and stole $2000+ worth of sound equipment + a MAC. We have security cameras…so they were caught pretty quickly.

@MarineBio…

one thing I didn’t like about Memphis. If you were a smart black kid… teachers acted like they didn’t want to see you do well…

but SMH.

^ Memphians see everything in black and white; I hate that we’re a racially-divided city.
For one of my club elections, there were 2 candidates running for treasurer: a black girl and a white girl.
Even though the black girl is ranked 4/507 and the white girl is ranked 228/507, the black girl lost the election solely because…well, she’s black. The teachers in charge thought there was nothing wrong with it.
