How can I fulfill the f requirement?

<p>My school (parochial) does not offer any Visual and Performing Arts courses (never did in its entire history of 15 years!).
Is this an acceptable excuse for an incomplete fulfillment of the a-g requirements??</p>

<p>Or must I go far as to take a visual and performing arts class at a community college?? If I must, then is it too late to take the class since the application deadline is Nov-30 and the course starts in December?</p>

<p>Have you taken any dance? Been in a school musical? IS there anything artsy you have done which might qualify for this? If so, point it out in your writings?</p>

<p>There are many ways to fulfill the requirement, but it must be fulfilled -- it's no different than fulfilling the english or math requirement. Yes, you can take a VAPA class at a community college.</p>

<p>Hmmm, it's hard to believe that no one at your school knows if any student has ever made it into the UC system. This is a hook that you could use to your advantage, if mentioned in one of your essays. </p>

<p>Time is running out, but I would e-mail the admissions dept. at the UC campuses that you are interested in ASAP! Very briefly tell them your story that, if accepted, you may very well be the first student from your school to attend a UC, and that you are working hard to successfully fulfill the 'f' requirement, even though your school doesn't offer any courses. </p>

<p>Ask them if they have a way of verifying if any student from your school has entered the UC system.</p>
