How can I improve my time management skill in Essay Section?

I mean, the content IS okay,
but I am really running out of time when writing the essay.

Not because I spend too much time brainstorming and organizing,
but I oftentimes stop suddenly cause I'm afraid the sentence i'm gonna write at the next moment would be grammatically wrong or sound awkward..

Any good suggestions?

I can only suggest that you practice. I'm really picky with my sentences, and often would stop during practice essays to make it sound 'exactly right' in relation to the other sentences... but practice essays helped me to stop doing this. You get used to getting into a special "rhythm" and just WRITING!

Yeah, practice is the key. You don't have to practice writing essays though. Try to write everyday in personal journal (which is what I do) and take as much time as you need to write properly. By the time you write your SAT essay, it'll be hard not to write well.

just try not to stop. i wrote too slowly in jan. i picked up in may and wrote fully but less neatly. dont worry too much about grammar.

Oh man I have the same problem too. I find myself stopping to think of the most precise word for what I'm trying to say. I'm not sure just practicing is the answer. We have to change something and practice with whatever that is in mind. For example, not worrying about using vague words and awkward grammar so much because getting the ideas across is more important than the detailed mechanics.

I heard that the essay graders like more precise and short sentences than long, complex, trying-to-sound smart sentences.

Write down whatever comes to mind that's related to the subject. Even if it's slightly off-topic, it's better than not having enough. College Board doesn't specifically say that essays are graded on length, but I've never believed that a long essay looks worse than a short one (unless the content is horrible in comparison).
