<p>How did you become interested in Rensselaer?</p>

<p>This question appears in the Candidates Choice application, with no word limit. Are they expecting like a 250+ word essay on "why RPI" or just a short paragraph on exactly how you found out about it? ("One day I was at a college fair and RPI's booth caught my eye. I walked over, and 10 minutes later I found myself in deep discussion with the representative. I realized then that RPI was the school for me." )</p>

<p>On the common app, I believe there’s a 100-150 CHARACTER limit on that, so it’s only like a sentence or two.</p>

<p>Mine was fairly straightforward: learned of them through the mail, took an interest in them through the Princeton Review. Though I did mention that I felt my interests would flourish in an environment with likeminded students.</p>
