How did you guys do it?

Hey guys, I am rohin. To all you Harvard students out there, how did you do it?
How many APs? What GPA? What test scores? What ECs?

Thanks Guys

It's called the nerd/genius combo. Not only do you have to be brilliant, but also work your ass off to put that brilliance to its maximum use. Only then will you have a realistic chance at getting into schools as competitive as Harvard.

You also need to be lucky enough to have the information that most CCers have.

hey guys, wat are CCers? does this look like a good enough schedule?

I am a freshman.

My school is in the top 100 high schools in the country.

I tried choosing the hardest classes possible.

Honestly. At least enjoy one year of high school first. If getting into a certain school is your only focus, it's not healthy. I've said this many times, (as have others) because it's true.

It's great to have goals, but try not too be too singular in your focus.

As to what ECs, it doesn't quite matter. Explore, or try something that you love. And if you are already involved with something, and like or love it, then delve more deeply into it. Whether it's acting, playing an instrument, writing, running, basketball...whatever. That's the best advice anyone can give you at this point.

And one more thing. Do more than what your school asks you to do. Read an extra novel next summer. Take a course in something interesting at a college during the summer. Go find research opportunities. And do it because it's exciting. And possibly fun.

Don't treat ECs as a tool to get you into college. Who knows? A passion developed early in life can become a career later.

And study for the SATs. And don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it. And do hang out with friends.

Wow...I'm posting on CC on a Friday night...damn why do we start so damn late?
