How do colleges look at honors credits

Hi, i’m planning to transfer to UT austin cola in the spring with a 3.77 gpa and 36 hours (30 being transferable) that being the case, 9 of those hours will be honor’s credits. I’m just curious how universities weigh honors courses, due to more of an academic burden.

They don’t weigh them any differently in my experience transferring to a top 5, and in helping ~25 other people do the same

My community college offers honors credits as part of a statewide honors program for UCLA.

In an honors class here, GPA is calculated the same way as any other class, however, if you accumulate enough credits from honors classes, you can get “priority consideration” in the admissions process. This includes the privilege of being considered for an alternative major.

This program is in California, though. I don’t know if the University of Texas system has a similar program.

You need to ask each place separately.
