I recently got invited to interview for the FAME 7-year BS/MD program at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I didn't get much merit scholarship for UTSA (I didn't go out of my way to apply to any other than the ones on ApplyTexas yet). I think it was something minute like $6k a year, which is barely anything; my parents don't want to pay more than $10k a year. I have already decided to apply for the Terry Scholarship as well as the Honors College (I called the lady and apparently they have a couple of small scholarships, but probably not enough).

It seems pretty difficult to become Terry Scholar, so I'm not really banking on that.

Are there any other scholarships I can apply for that can give me a lot of merit aid? If I were to get accepted into the FAME program, I would like to be able to pay for it. (I plan to submit the FAFSA soon.)

A little more about me...
Asian, family of 4, only one parent working, family income below $70k. I have extremely good grades/scores. My ECs are probably above average (not great; if anything, my ECs are what's dragging me down).

I heard PACT bumps up the scholarship if students get into the program. You might want to ask the school if there are additional scholarships for FAME students.

If you are looking for money, what stopped you from applying more broadly? UTD provides full tuition + some money for people with high scores and same with University of Houston.

At 70k, you may have 10k + requirement from out of pocket and may be able to borrow 5,500. This is what FAFSA forecaster is telling me at 65k income.

@philosophy, UT-PACT due date (Dec 15th/2013) was already passed. The stat for UT-PACT is quite high, FYI. Working in FAFSA website, you could find some additional scholarship opportunity. What is your actual GPA/SAT and ECs ? Do you have any medical related ECs ?
