I am currently a freshman at Cal Poly SLO but planning on transferring once the year ends. I’ve applied to CSUs in southern California (ex. SDSU, CSUL, etc.), and all of them have been asking me about my transferable credit. I can’t seem to figure out how to find/ calculate this. A lot of websites have been pointing me to assist.org, but when I go there it says that only one of the approximately 13 courses I will have taken here will transfer.
You realize that CSU’s like SDSU, CSULB accept Junior level transfers with 60 semester/90 quarter units?
Assist.org is set up to show classes taken at a CA Community college that are transferable. You need to try and match your SLO courses to your local CC courses listed on assist.org and see which would fulfill the requirements. Are you using AP credit for some the transferable courses?
You might want contact your local CC and meet with an advisor there to make a plan for transferring. I cannot see how you were able to apply as a transfer with only Freshman status.
All of your credits are “transferable” and will show (with the grade earned) on your final transcript. However it’s up to your new school to determine if those credits count towards your degree. Each CSU (and department) has its own requirements for graduation. Not uncommon for transfers to graduate with 15-25 unusable credits.
