Transfer from SJSU to Cal Poly SLO or another school?

I'm currently a freshman at San Jose State University and a Business Administration major. I just don't feel like I belong here. I feel like I can do something better with myself in a different school. My top choice of school was Cal Poly SLO, but I didn't get in. I really want to transfer to Cal Poly as a Junior and I plan on completing all of their prerequisites and achieving a GPA in the 3.8-3.9 range. From what I've seen on this website, it's very difficult to transfer to Cal Poly, and applying from a different CSU doesn't help me either. Are there any ways I could transfer to different schools? Can I transfer to a CC next year to increase my chances for Cal Poly or perhaps a UC? I need help and advice because I just want to get out of my current school.

Yes, transfer to a CC for your second year and apply from there.

Is it possible to transfer from a csu to csu tho? i go to csu stan and want to transfer to csu chico, is that impossible?

It is possible to transfer from CSU to CSU. I just don’t know the difficulty of making it happen.

I heard that is not easy… but never hurt to try

To be considered a CC student and not a CSU student, you need to have more CC units than CSU units at time of transfer application. You can’t just go to a CC last minute–so calculate your units and plan accordingly.

CCC to CSU transfer requests are filled first. If there is any space, then they look at CSU to CSU transfers.

The problem is that CCC to CSU transfers are often maxing out the spots.

After this year ends, I will have 28 units at SJSU, so I will have more CC units than CSU units. I’m expanding my horizon and I’m considering UCLA, UC Davis, and UCSB as well. I think with the TAP and TAG programs, I should be able to get into one of those schools. The only problem I see right now is that I’m a Business Administration Major (concentrating in Corporate Finance) right now at SJSU, and a lot of the UC’s don’t have a Business major.

Any other suggestions? I feel pretty lost in this.
