How do I get accustomed to a new school?

Hello. I’m a sophomore transfer student, and I just finished my first week of classes at Haverford College. During orientation, I noticed that the freshman spend a lot more time meeting each other, something that doesn’t exist for transfer students. I want to meet more members of my class, but after ten days here not much has been happening (though I just came back from a club fair, which I’m hoping helps me meet people). I live on a floor full of mostly transfer students, of which there are about a dozen. Can any with transfer experience explain what they did to get accustomed to their new school?

My daughter was a Junior transfer and told me a very similar story. She is a senior now with a lot of school friends from a Lac with 1300 students.
First, your floor has 12 Transfer students on your floor? Well… Start knocking on those doors and introduce yourself. Get /make cookies and see if anyone wants some. If there is a common area talk to your R/A to have a transfer student only Pizza party or make brownies and have that there…
Join Clubs that have your interest. My daughter joined a food co-op and all the students buy and make their own food together, met tons of like minded students
Say hi to everyone you sit next door in class and same at meal time. Your peeps are there and you will find them.
