I currently have a 3.0. This will be my fourth year in community college as I wasn't really sure what I was doing my first 1.5 years... Anyway I had the 3.0 and I finished IGETC + 3/4 of my prereq. But I don't think I made it in this year because I had a failed grade in Diff Eq, which I will make up this coming fall. The new requirement is that I now need a 3.2. So should I stop taking major prereq for now and take filler courses just to boost my GPA?

I was thinking I should boost my GPA first before taking my major prereqs again since I only need 2 semesters of O. Chem. I doubt I can get an A in that class and my college is currently only allowing 17 units max. So I was thinking maybe I would just do the Calc class, then take a bunch of easy UC transferable courses like Sociology and Psychology or something, and then do the O. Chem classes when I transfer.

I don't really know though. What do you guys think I should do? I think 4 years in CC is a really really long time.

Since you have 3 years of classes already, it might be difficult to raise your gpa from 3.0 to 3.2 even with easy “A” classes.

I’m assuming you want to TAG, so go to the UC TAG website and calculate what your gpa will be after taking some easy classes. If you fall short, just apply normally during the UC cycle and you should have a decent shot anyways.

Whatever I think I’m just going to give up. I’ll sign up for UCI this year and see if I get accepted if not I’ll just go CSU Fullerton. Just need a degree at this point.
