Here is the E-mail I got along with my confirmation E-mail about interviews. There isn't anyone in my area, so I'm not worrying about it.

Thank you for recently submitting your application for admission to Vanderbilt University.

As an optional part of the admissions process, we offer interviews with Vanderbilt alumni to

provide you with a different perspective as you make your way through the college selection

process. A corps of Vanderbilt alumni has agreed to participate in our Alumni Interviewing

Program and is trained to provide you with their insight, and to answer any questions you may

have.

Please visit our special website at Admissions: Vanderbilt University where you

will find a list of participating alumni, organized by location. This site also contains

specific instructions about how to participate in the program, as well as dates

that will be helpful to you as you proceed.

f you choose to participate in the Alumni Interviewing Program, the alumnus/a will

submit a written report on your behalf that will become part of your official admissions

file. To that end, the alumni interview is both optional and evaluative. Please

understand that there may not be alumni trained in your particular location;

remember that this program is completely optional and is not a required part

of the admissions process. You are welcome to check back at a later date to see if

any alumni have registered near your location.

If you have any questions about the program, or need any assistance along the way,

please let me know.

Sincerely,

Tricia Blumenthal,
