The colleges I am applying to as a transfer student require that I submit a “Mid-Term Report.” This Mid-Term Report is a downloadable PDF on the Common App’s page, but what I am confused about, is, because my school does not have official mid-term reports, am I supposed to go up to every teacher and ask them to sign my mid-term report and send it to the school? If not, is my counselor supposed to send the teachers the report to fill out? If that is the case, how am I supposed to upload the mid-term report to my universities? Is there an online portal of sorts that my counselor can upload it to?
Yup. It’s what I did last year and what I’m doing now. You go up to your professors, and ask them to jot down the grade you currently have in that class. They put it down, and sign. You do that with all of your professors, scan the paper, and email it to all of the colleges that require a mid-term report. It’s as simple as that.
If for whatever reason your professor doesn’t have a “grade” for you yet, they can put why that is in the comment section on the form.
@AGoodFloridian Hey, a couple of questions about the report. Firstly, what happens, if I am taking an online class and can’t get hold of my professor (in person). Secondly, do I send the mid-term report in the exact middle of the term, so after 8 out of 16 weeks are done, or after my mid-term exams are graded?
@Vincent1997 All of my classes this semester are online so I feel ya’. What I’ll be doing is emailing my professors the form, individually. The first one signs it, scans it, emails it back to me. I send that form to the next professor to do the same and so on so forth. Bit of a hassle but…
You send in the mid-term report before the college’s published deadline for it. Example would be Pomona. Their deadline was on the 15th, but their deadline for the mid term report is March 6th. Every college is different I’d believe.
@AGoodFloridian hmmm interesting. Many of my schools require it but don’t specify any date. I guess I’ll double check
So question. I’m a transfer student who received their Associates and hasn’t attended any college in almost 3 years but I’m looking now to transfer into a 4 year university. How do I go about this. Obviously I haven’t had any contact with any College teachers on quite some time. This question also applies to the recommendation letter from a teacher or advisor. This process is really difficult for students who haven’t attended college in quite some time
