<p>For my essay on the Common App, I am going to be using how I am the only student of Color to have worked there way up through an organization. My question to the CC community is, How do I write this with out sound offensive, rude, pretentious, racially profiling etc....?</p>

Lol, seriously, an essay like this is always risky, as one can easily come across as racist without intending to. That said, I would focus, not on your race, but the amount of effort you put into your organization and how it taught you the value of hard work…or something along those lines :)</li>
