Where is there a listing of all the available courses? The first year guide doesnt seem to list very many.

On the registrar's website there is a listing of classes (registrar.unc.edu)

There is a link on student central as well where you can search for classes. (it's under the student section on UNC's homepage)

thanks...it all seems so complicated!!

any tips for figuring it all out, carolinagirl? im gonna attempt a double major and language minor at UNC. im a pogue scholar tho so we get some "special advising..." is this gonna help? any advice?

What majors are you considering/what language for the minor? Then I might be able to be of more help :)

I'll spare you the figuring out a science mjr info until you say what you're majoring in..but first of all breathe! It's really not that bad. The best advice I was given before CTOPS was to make out a list of what you want/when it is/and the numbers for the class and check again before you register. Find stuff that you think is interesting---I liked Anth 10, Hist 23? (pop music), Musc 144 (country) and Phys 104 (Pierce is AMAZING!). Again, not sure of you're major but Lisa Volaric and Forbes are both really nice for chem classes.
(Not sure if you're musically inclined, but UNC's bands are amazing and a lot of fun, too)

No clue about the Pogue thing--I just dive in head first and go for it and talk it over with older friends of the same mjr.

ok carolinagirl, you rock!!

im thinking double major in business and international area studies, and a minor in spanish. international studies requires u to do language anyway, and if i do a study abroad with spanish, wont that ease up on that?

i dont have to take any englishes, hopefully no sciences (im thinking a 5 on that ap bio exam comin in), and i placed out of various histories with euro, gov, and apush.

ummm, well I no longer rock with useful info...I'm no help with business/international areas/Spanish. Haven't taken any of those (Bio mjr/Chem minor--so aside from the classes mentioned earlier, the rest of mine have been science and I did Latin for my foreign language). No clue about study abroad either. Sorry!

(Though I do have to say you're braver than me...Chem drives me crazy somedays, Business might just kill me)

aww thats ok. thanks anyways! :-)

anyone else?

Has anyone found a single web page or PDF that lists all the courses offered at UNC with a paragraph or two describing the course. The registrar's site lists all the courses that are being offered, but there's no text provided that really describes what the course is about. I've found some department pages, like http://www.unc.edu/ugradbulletin/depts/hist.html for history that provides that type of info for specific departments, but I was hoping to find some central place with all of them together so I didn't have to go around to dept page after dept page after dept page....or is this to much to ask for?

^You might try the following URL and the links to the various departments on that page:
