it costs more than (gasp) 80 dollars if I take Amtrak from Syracuse or greyhound/shortline from Ithaca. Do any of you know if there's somekind of transportaion groupwise at school? do they have somekind of system during the breaks such as collecting all the students from philly and taking to philly? I mean that would be really sweet, you know.
So many problems arises when the school is in the middle of nowhere. l0l

it's really not that middle of nowhere. on breaks it's $30 to go from ithaca to NYC. anything you pay beyond that depends on how far you're going, but getting to one of the biggest hubs in the world, NYC, is pretty standard and hard to complain about, and to get to Ithaca for $30 isn't so bad.

I know that they have direct transportation to NYC, but my concern is that they don't have one to Philly. sparticus800, I see you are from NJ, where are you from? how do you get to your place?
I guess the best possible way for me is Ithaca-NYC-Philadelphia, which takes more than 7hrs in total..

long ride on 80 then north on 15 or 81, idk its probably about 6 hours

I've done the drive from Philly countless times... it's 4 hours by car...Route 476 to Route 81 to Route 79.. very straightforward and a pretty drive this time of year

my q is is there any public transportation
(BTW, I know that it only takes 4 hrs by car :)

rosiedaisy,

Sorry about that. I guess I was responding back to the fellow that said it took 6 hours. I'm sure there is a bus service from Philly to Ithaca and that might in fact take six hours.

There is also a ride board that Cornell operates:

Wharf

Thanks Wharf Rat, this is exactly what I wanted!
So there IS some kind of carpool like this. Wow. thanks again :)
