so for history.. we have all these chapters to read by thursday.. and a test then.. how do you guys study for History? Do you guys outline or just read it ?

online Wikis....

Both. But I only have a chapter for US history to do every two weeks.

Course-notes.org has really good outlines, even if your book isn't American Pageant.

For world history doing a chapter every 0.5/1/2 days makes reading the book really hard... so just outlines. :)

I read it ??

I did APUSH last year and I just read the book. AMSCO is good for rw before the AP test tho..

I dislike the way history is taught in the u.s (well at my school at least)
i usually read the chapter once then go online to find notes. I read over those notes and make any additional notes.

but my book.. is Alan Brinkley's American History a survey 9th edition and i cant find outlines for it anywhere!

Just make your own outlines/take your own notes then. It'll reinforce the material more than just downloading it anyway.

The book we use has a website with notes already made Online Resources for the AP Edition

I read the outlines and take general notes, but I leave space for additional information. I then go read the book itself and take more specific notes. For tests I usually review my notes and quizzes.

Read... I love history and reading in general.

It just goes into the mind. :s

Read history like a story, not like a bunch of facts to memorize. My 0.02.

Read history as if it were current events.

Like, a hundred years from now, some kid will be slaving over the fact that George W Bush was the president between 2000 and 2008. It'll be just another fact to him. But for us, it's common knowledge.

You have to experience history, if that makes any sense.

i love history too! my book is just soo dry!

Outlines and flashcards

I don't do anything, read a bit sometimes

I don't have World Civ this trimester, but in the past history has been fairly simple. Just read a lot on the topic ( you can get lots of books at a library ) and write an essay to solidify what you have learned. Then in class, simply recite.

world history is such an easy class O_O
especially those essay writing dbq things

okk...
i searched them on wiki.. does it really only come out in AP courses? i've been learning this stuff since like.. middle school -0-

last year I just sorta half listened while taking a nap. that apparently was good enough for an A in apush

I, um, just do some of the assigned reading, and then if we have an essay I actually learn the stuff by reading stuff on the internet.
BUT for quizzes, I must read, and carefully. Because today, we had a quiz - one of the questions was "What was the focus [about peasants] of page 364?"
Lol. I said work, and it was villages. Uruawlkefjwalkefjale
The talked about their WORK on the NEXT page. Uuhhhh... like i'm suppose to remember what page everything is on.

oh thank god mine aren't like that ^.

Blah my book is super dry.
