does chapman use all 4 years gpa and average it or use 10-11th? And also do they weigh it if you have a ap class or honors?
If you apply Early action, then Chapman University will use 9-11th grades. If you apply Regular decision or rolled over to RD, then Mid-year Senior transcripts will be considered.
do they weigh it if u have ap or honors classes?
Most privates do not disclose how they calculate GPA or weight HS classes, unlike the California UC’s and CSU’s. I would go by your Unweighted GPA (academic) to determine if you are competitive applicant. Showing HS course rigor in the form of Honors, AP, IB or DE courses will always be helpful.

i see! thank you! you have answered so many of my questions! what a live saver!
Chapman’s GPA requirement is weighted, although they don’t state it on their pamphlets. I asked an admissions officer during a tour. The UCs are the only schools who look at only 10th/11th for decisions.
It’s highly recommended that you apply Early Action at Chapman. And if not accepted, your application is reconsidered in regular admissions (unheard of).
Does Chapman evaluate students for merit/schlarship opportunities with the weighted or unweighted GPA? Having taken two APs or honors classes each year, this may has a positive impact.
