how does getting recruited out of college work for accounting majors?

okay so i am from los angeles, and pretty soon i'll be deciding if i want to go to santa barbara (UCSB) for college as an "economics and accounting" (thats the name of the major) major. santa barbara seems like a fantastic place to go to school, but the thing is i would like to stay in Los Angeles after graduating college. i really would like to secure a job before graduation, but not in anywhere except the LA Metro area. this is my hometown and i don't really want to leave this place and take a job someplace where i don't want to be.

Santa Barbara is in Southern California, which LA is essentially the center of. So it wouldn't be like i would be going across the country or anything. but still, location of my potential job offers are worrying me.

so if i went to UC Santa Barbara and went to the recruiting events, how difficult would it be to secure a job in an area where i would like to live in? do students have the choice whether to choose where they want to work? or should i choose a university that is closer to home?

Whoever told you there was no such thing as a stupid question was totally wrong.

Santa Barbara is < 100 miles from l.a. Of course L.A. companies will recruit there.

Go to UCSB, do biz/econ + acct, get a 3.6+ gpa, and you can go anywhere as long as you are not a social loser (which I’m sure won’t be a problem - UCSB will remedy that nicely).
