How easy/hard is it to change my major to engineering?

I was admitted to Northeastern Early Action as an Economics major. Recently, I’ve been having a desire to change my major to become an engineer, but before I really decide to pursue it, I’d like to know how difficult it is to change my major at Northeastern. Not to sound arrogant, but I was admitted into the University Honors Program with a 20k/yr merit scholarship so I don’t know if my high candidacy will have any impact on whether or not I can change schools. Does anyone have any advice or information?

Changing majors at NEU is very easy - at most it takes a single semester. In other cases, particularly before / during admission, you may be able to change it before you get to campus in the fall. There’s actually a change of major request form available on myNEU for admitted students - when you come to orientation and set your first-semester schedule, you can enroll in classes as needed for Fall. It doesn’t matter if you have a scholarship or honors, etc.

Short answer: Yes, you can change your major - very easily almost any time.

I second @PengsPhils. Anecdotal evidence: friend changed from biochemistry to philosophy within two weeks mid-semester.

I would just warn you that if you are considering engineering, it is easier to switch out of than to switch into; although neither process would be exceptionally difficult/time-consuming.
