<p>Is it easier than Harvard, Yale, the other Ivies? Is it true that the professors at Rice are more accessible than the profs at the Ivies?</p>
<p>I have no idea about the Ivies. What I do know is that it is extremely easy at Rice. Professors are very approachable; all you need to do is talk to them after class. They also have office hours, which is another chance to meet them. Find a professor whose research interests you and ask if they have any positions open. I personally do not know anyone who has been turned down.</p>
<p>I still see a few of my professors every now and then and hang out with them.</p>

<p>If you had to pick between Rice and Yale/Harvard/Princeton/Brown, which would you pick, and why? Which is the better deal?</p>
<p>I did not apply to HYP or Brown. I wanted to be an engineer and Rice has a much better engineering school than any of those (for what I planned on pursuing). The “better deal” is definitely Rice as the tuition is much cheaper. Finances aside, it really depends on what you want to do. The UG experience at Rice is also fantastic, although I do not know too much about the others.</p>
<p>All 5 are excellent schools that are well known. I don’t think you will get a major edge with one over the other from employers and graduate schools. Pick the school that has a better program in your field of study.</p>
