How long does it take to walk from parking structure 32 to royce hall? I want to take the flyaway bus from the airport for orientation tomorrow, and looking at the campus map it seems P32 is kinda far from the check-in.

a good 25-30 min i'd say, walking at a casual pace.

W T F!!!!! I'm going to be later than I thought.

LOLOL. FARRRRRRRR.

i do believe that bob hope once said that it takes 4 years to graduate from UCLA, unless you park in lot 32.

i'd honestly give myself 45 minutes. streetlights + getting to bruin plaza + walking up bruinwalk will take a while, especially if you're carrying any stuff.

I was at orientation 101, and I took the flyaway shuttle from LAX to Westwood. It was intense. I was carrying some baggage, and by the time that I got to the UCLA dorms, I was drenched in sweat.

It is a tough 30 minute walk.

Anyone know how close the supershuttle thing stops? And will it be slower since it's not direct? (I won't arrive until 10AM, so I'll probably miss the huge load of people heading to UCLA, so I don't know how many people will be heading to the same spot)

edit - oh, fantastic, I get to show up both late and sweaty.

well super shuttle you tell them where to drop you off, so it shouldnt be a problem. the trip might take a bit longer if the van isnt full of people going to UCLA though. but generally its in the same vicinity so its not like they have to stop in in downtown first then back over to UCLA or something.

 aww what the hell?! now I'll be even later...oh well haha.

How long does is the bus ride usually? Will it be even worse at 7:30-8AM?

It wasn't too bad a walk, my trio walked about 45 mins because we got lost several times haha. Honestly just take it, it beats a cab but if walking isn't your thing then use Super Shuttle.

The only thing is you have to remember you have all your luggage on you while you're walking back to UCLA. There si a route you can go without stairs but my group took stairs and I had to carry my suitcase, my laptop case, and my purse up the stairs. My arm was killing me. So I recommend Super Shuttle if you're out of shape/ don't want to drag your stuff around behind you but it's realyl not too bad. You'll be walking a lot during orientation so it's nothing compared to that.

Oh, and I only took Flyaway to UCLA, not back to LAX. I would have taken it back despite the long walk except my friend is really lazy and out of shape and wouldn't walk with me so we took a cab which I was not very happy about. Going to UCLA is also uphill just to remind you.

As for time, it took about 25 mins to get from LAX to UCLA when I got to LAX at about 8:00ish PM

so if i have a friend in LA with a car, could he park in 32 for some time to pick me up from the garage to come with me to campus? or does he need a pass, blah blah blah complication?

he'll need to buy a permit.

You have a long journey ahead of you.
