How Far Is Towers, do I Apply

Title says it all, do I apply for the Towers dorm like I do for regular Texas housing and how far from campus is it

I would like some info on this too because towers is where i want to live if i get in. I would also like some opinions of towers compared to other dorms because Ive stayed in towers before and thought it was really nice.

Daughter lives there and loves it. It is just a few blocks from campus - I am guessing a 4-5 minute walk from the lobby of Towers to the center of campus. It is a private dorm so you would apply directly. Their phone # is 512-469-9823. I would call and ask for leasing agent. We dealt with someone named Tonia who was helpful, but I believe that there are other leasing agents as well. They are located at 801 w 24th in case you want to check distance to campus. Good luck.

My son lived there two years ago, and his brother will live there next year.

It is within 3 blocks to Guadalupe, close to the student center. You can get information about it online- google University Towers Austin and follow the link. You can apply online, there is an application fee and deposit required, but if you visit, they will waive the fee if you mention it.

You can either do 4 people in a suite, 2 people a room, or less (but it will cost you).

Towers is pricey. The rooms themselves are nice, but the building outside the rooms is an absolute dump.

I would never let my daughter live there–the security is not very efficient and there are tons of hormonal drunken pledges there.

Towers is at 24th and Pearl, about a 5 minute walk to 24th and Guadalupe and around a 10 minute walk to the main building.

Does anyone know if you apply to Towers when you apply to the school or when you get accepted?

You apply to Towers whenever you want to, they are not affiliated with UT in any way. My older son applied in like March and got in no problem. It’s not like SRD or Hardin House where you have to apply way early to get a spot.

Just wait til you get accepted, it won’t be a problem.

Towers is about five minutes from campus, and five minutes from West Campus. It is the perfect place to live if you are going Greek, but is also a great place to live - the rooms are very nice, but can be quite pricey.

If you are pledging/rushing, it is an invaluable place to live, as you will live with all the people you pledge with, and you can all get very close as friends. That said, if grades/studying is very important to you, discipline is imperative.

It is close to campus, so that should not be a problem. It is private, and not through UT.
