How fat are you guys?

5’6 and 115 pounds. I play basketball almost every single day. Don’t know my BMI though, and I don’t lift weight. I’m scared it’s going to stunt my growth. I’m 15 and in 10th grade.

Just remembered I turned 16 a week ago. :)

5 foot 9 and 128 pounds.

BMI: 18.9

Mile time is 5:07.

I’m 5 foot 5, 14 and weigh 105 pounds. According to a BMI calculator I found online, my BMI is 17.5 and I remember my doctor telling me that my BMI makes me slightly under weight.

5’11 and 140lbs. 19.5 BMI. 17 year old male.

How does lifting weights stunt growth? I do not believe that at all.

I don’t know if it’s just what I’ve heard from others, but I have no data to back it up. I just personally don’t like to workout qt the gym. I just feel weird. I would rather workout at home.

…please tell me this is sarcasm?

Lifting heavy weights can damage the growth plates in bones. Google it if you’re interested.

That becomes irrelevant when you stop growing. I’m sure many others here, like myself, are pretty much done growing, so lifting weights is not a problem.

5’2 and about 100 lbs last time I checked and I turned 18 first week of december…but I don’t really eat healthy

5’8 and 136 pounds 15 year old girl

6 foot, 183 lbs, something like 24 BMI, 6:30 mile. One of the fastest on the football team and I can dunk. Health is not measured in BMI. Cardiovascular health along with body fat percentage plays a large role as well. I would say that the cut 200 pound 6 foot guy with 8% body weight and a high BMI is in better shape than the 6 foot, 155 pound guy with 15% body fat. Just my opinion though.

You guys realize BMI is much more complicated than Height/Weight? Age, sex, bodyfat and other factors must be taken into account.

I am 133/5’7". I got into weight lifting a couple months back, and I’m looking to hit 150-160 (<10%) by the time I die on December 21, 2012.

I don’t think it works like that.

@dfree124, how old are you? I just turned 16, so I still have about 2 years to grow.

how do you guys put on so much weight? im trying to gain weight (bulk), but it isnt working by just eating a lot, cause all the food disappears within a few hours

@Voberaptor, are you lifting at the same time? If not try that. If you are and you aren’t graining any weight or muscle mass you have to take a look at what it is you are eating. You want your diet to be high in protien to stimulate muscle growth. GNC often has supplements you can take that help to put on weight.

17.0 BMI. Fast metabolisms can be both a blessing and a burden.

@Voberaptor, make sure you’re eating lean protein with a calorie surplus. Also, you need at least 6 hours of sleep, if not more, to see consistent results.

5’11" 143…
