I am not sure how the transfer accomodation at UCI / UCSD/ UCLA or other UC's works
I really do not want to end up paying for a dorm, where i would be crammed in a small room with two other people.
Also i have learnt that you would end up saving $3k a year if you choose to go with off campus housing.
So have you guys decided?
Just wanted to get some feedbacks or

I haven’t fully decided yet. Transfers usually don’t get into dorms unless you don’t do your application or something…it’s all about the apartments!!! [:

I heard UCSD in particular is building their new transfer apartments for next fall.

…I’m leaning towards off-campus tho, wherever I go. Too expensive to live on campus…for me…and I get pretty good aid…Still thinking…

Best of luck! [:

I am infact curious about transfer housing in UCSB. Its one of my option schools but i know nothing about it… I did see some things online and all the undergrad apartments on campus are shared…It sucks coz they have no options on single apartments unless you go for studios which are over $1100 bucks as oppose to the shared apartments which are about $600 a piece.

I think if you move to major cities like LA or SD , living on campus would be cheaper than finding apartment off campus because prices are sky high. Atleast on campus the prices arent too bad…well atleast for some places.

Well you, gotta consider that for transfer students, they are guna cram 3 of us in a single room with a bathroom.
things at an apt would be much better than on campus housing.
Sometimes i wish that i lived in georgia,…

I live in San Diego…apparently I was talking to my oldest brother and his friend went to UCSD and he was getting his place for $500 a month…I was like…O__O;; yeah right…LOL. Guess I research…

UCI has really good transfer housing… a bit pricey but I’d say the same price for getting your own apartment around the area. except it offers a furnished apartment, gym, pool, free internet access, and laundry. So in the end, it’s ALOT cheaper than your own apartment. If you end up going there I would apply to VDC Norte. It is housing for transfer and upper division students. ITs a new complex and since I live near the campus I’ve already gone to check it out. (I’ve got my eye on the 3 bedroom apartments with one bedroom per person, since I totally feel ya on the crammed-into-one-room-with-strangers thing) If I end up at UCI, I am DEFINETLY applying there.

off campus housing all the way. just find some cool roommates. im sure it wont be hard with all the new transfer students. i havent met a single person who liked dorm life.

UCSD’s new transfer housing will be extremely expensive, 1270 a month is the cheapest. It will be in a fancy apartment though, not crammy from the looks of it.

Apartments in San Diego are way cheaper, with all bills/food included.

I’m still considering living on campus though…it’s very tempting. I also get a crap load of aid.

if you want the whole college experience then being crammed in a room with two others and one bathroom per floor should be on your list of things. Try it for a quarter or two, then get some good friends to have as room mates and then move out.

i’ll be living off campus with my bf sharing an apartment. it will end up being about $600 a month including utilities and most of the places are really really nice so I’m excited. I just don’t know if it will be in San Diego or Westwood yet :-)

sweetnezz…how nice of your boyfriend to move out with you! mine wont be able to unless if I go to UCI…but if I’m at SD, Cal or LA… I’ll be all alone :[[[[

kirstiesaysxo pmed you.

That’s a pretty good reason to find a new one. :D

huh? 10char

sweetnezz! tried to pm you back but it wont let me… it says your inbox is full :[

and kkiiji, I wont be finding a new one silly, I will just be on my own in the city…im nervous to have to live with strangers :/

That’s seriously expensive, especially in these coast cities.

k i cleared my inbox, should work now.

Kristie we should totally be roomies if you head up to Cal. xDDD. [: …and if I get into Cal I should say.^^

sakurax…I totally wouldnt mind that. I need a friend anyway if I go that far… I know…NOBODY! :[ and I remember reading on a thread somewhere that you speak korean. yayyy k-bbq everyday plz
