How good premed

How good is the premed program at UT????

i'm not sure if you are or are not aware of this but just to make sure. . .there is no designated pre-med major @ ut. you just major in whatever you want to major in whether it be biology or art history and take the required classes needed for med school admissions. i have heard though that, ut has a good rep with med schools.

Apparently Physics majors do better on the MCATs then Bio Majors.

yeah, I know that premed not a major thus, i said premed program. interesting that physics do better on MCAT than bio majors. any evidence??? also, I wanna do bio honors program for doing well on MCAT. any suggestions??? I asked the career program office of Utexas, and they won't give an average for MCAT scores for their students, but they imply it was around the lower 30s. the guy even said that the score was pretty good for state u. but how does ut's premed prep rank among ucla, haverford, rochester, and case western reserve??? I am IS, so i'm trying to decide between these schools for premed.

MCAT scores depend alot on how much work you put in, not simply the school you go to. with that said, UT has a very good premed program and there are lots of med schools in the UT system so you should be fine if you put in the work to score well on the mcat.

Heres the evidence I found:
<a href="http://scienceblogs.com/principles/2007/02/want_to_be_a_doctor_major_in_p.php%5B/url%5D">http://scienceblogs.com/principles/2007/02/want_to_be_a_doctor_major_in_p.php</a>
A few of my friends have brought it up when they talk about going into medicine.

Here's my question though: do the profs at Ut give the same difficulty of instruction for premeds as profs at other more "prestigious" schools do????

English majors usually score the highest on MCATs

I dono about UT at large but Plan II students average 32 on the MCAT

thank you. however, can some one answer my question about the ut curriculum??? because i can't seem to find out much about that on ut's web site.
thanks again guys.

idk if thatll help but it gives u an idea of wut medical schools want

hey
