How Hard Are Your AP Classes

@bobtheboy, I know I don’t get it but I’ll take it. It was the first year that Spanish Lang was taught though so our teachers graded us based on whether we had a native accent, which I don’t so I was automatically knocked down. Then they lowered our grade 5% for every grammar error in a three page essay, which we had to do every 2 weeks. It was ridiculous.

Right now I have AP Euro and AP Calc AB. Both are pretty easy, just a TON of work especially from AP Euro

AP US History - A lot of homework, but the material isn’t so bad.
AP Physics C - Hellish. The teacher’s a cool guy, though. I think I just need to focus more.
AP Language and Composition - Pretty easy so far. My teacher’s a really cool old lady, but the main problem is that I kind of feel alienated. I guess I just need to try harder to socialize.
AP Statistics - Pretty easy class, though I took it for half a quarter last year before transferring.
AP Computer Science - More or less a break class. I kind of embarrassed myself early on though. I couldn’t figure why my program wasn’t working when I realized that I had been compiling instead of running, LOL.
AP European History - This class confuses me. I can’t quite tell if it’s hard or easy. The teacher’s pretty lax, but there’s a lot of work…

AP us history is killer at my school, hours and hours of homework and the quizzes are very specific
honors chemistry is like ap , and ap chem is like chem 5 in college
ap world medium/easy just do your work
not really any easy ap’s at my school except for ap psychology, ap environmental science, ap geo, and maybe ap studio art

Rate 1-10 (10 being easiest)
AP Biology: 8
AP Physics: 6.5
AP Chemistry:9
AP Environmental Studies: 10
AP European History: 9
AP US History:10
AP English and Comp: 7
AP English and Lang: 6
AP Spanish: 10
AP Psychology: 8
AP Statsitcs: 7

Those are the ones I have/am taken/taking.

AP chem at my school is literally impossible. Class averages on tests can be as low as 55, but she curves them. The kids are so ridiculously prepared for the AP exam though, out of the 96 kids that took it last year 90 of them got 5’s.

Last year:
APUSH was A LOT of work but I have a good memory so it wasn’t too difficult.
Chem got hard when I got sick again and missed all of kinetics 2 months before the exam and spent the rest of the year lost and behind resulting in 2 on the exam (though I got an A in the class).
Psych was easy.

This year:
Stat was difficult to grasp at first but it’s pretty easy now and I just slew my 1st quarter exam.
Physics B - everything’s on a freakin incline plane…
Enviro is my sleep/make-up work class.
Lang - a good amount of work but I’m a good writer so it’s not difficult.
Gov is easy because the teacher is fantastic and it’s similar to APUSH in material.

AP US - was a lot of work but by the end the test seemed so easy.

AP BIO - we literally do nothing. its a joke. I’ll either have to teach the whole textbook to myself or just accept that I am going to fail the test haha

Teachers are what makes classes hard.

Calc - Content comes at godspeed and hw is a mega pain.

Physics - AP Calc and reminiscent AP chem. Elite math kids only venture here.
Comp Sci - like physics, only join if youre elite and into it.
Chem - Lots of content, labs, papers but good if you’re into it. The test massacred many last May.
Bio - Memorization on steroids. Not too hard otherwise.
Enviro Sci - Easy, and less scale bio (for our school) but its the second worst scoring test.

APUSH - Like bio, more and more memorizing.
Gov - easy and taken by all.
Euro History - complex memorization.
Psych, Econs, Music Theory- easy, just like Gov

Lang/comp - reputably (sp) hortid teacher that gave too many art projects. You’ll memorize all the literary terms abd write TONS

Lit/comp- easier, but difficult texts and essays often.

French/Spanish/Japanese/etc- good luck beating the natives on the test. Hs classes are usually under 5 kids by 5th year.

All of the classes I’m taking/have taken are much easier than the test (USH, World, Huamn Geo, Lang, Physics B, Comp Sci A).

But the average AP score in my school is a 1.8…

:S

1-10 (10 being the hardest)
AP World History- 6 way too much material, way too in-depth for the AP test
AP English Language - 2 teacher was an easy grader, the ap test was easy grading too though
AP US History - 1 We read a chapter in the history book every night and took quizzes verbatim
AP Psych - 3 I slept through the class and still got like a 96
AP Gov - 1 It is a more general version of US History, without the reading
AP Calculus BC - 3 We go at a pretty decent pace but the material is nothing
AP Stats - 3 The concepts are almost self-explanatory
AP Chemistry - 8 All we do are labs
AP Physics C - 4 We move at a pretty decent pace and some of the concepts are a little more challenging
Ap English Lit - 6 The teacher is a terrible grader and assigns us way too much work.

Senior APs only(12 total APs)

1-5 difficulty, with 5 being hardest

-AP macro:3
-AP stats: 4
-AP English: 2
-AP Calc: 4

My APUSH CLASS is easy, just a lot of handouts, but she makes the tests brutally difficult, it’s actually quite annoying.

If you can remember details and names well, Us History is really easy… The AP test was really easy because they asked very easy questions. The essays weren’t hard except for one about black rights… Lots of 20th and 18th century on the test…

AP Stat and AP Chem I got A’s and got 5’s on the test, and the classes were easy.
APUSH was a super easy class but we for whatever reason cover up to the civil war twice so I got a 3 (thank you, DBQ on Nixon)
Currently, Psych, Calc, and Gopo are proving to be fairly straightforward. English isn’t bad, but I’m just not interested in it. AP Bio makes my brain hurt. But I have amazing teachers for every AP I’m in.

Last year I took AP World, which was pretty damn easy, just a lot of busy work. The AP exam was an easy 5, but for some reason I did awful on the subject test.
This year, I’m taking four APs.
AP English is definitely the easiest of my APs, but that’s because it comes very naturally to me. It just requires knowing how to read, basically.
AP US History is like AP World History, it’s easy, just a lot of busy work and you have to make sure to do the reading.
AP Calculus is fun to me, but I keep bombing the tests because I don’t think I’m good at math.
I’m just struggling for an A in AP Physics. Not doing too well in that class, and it’s pretty hard, but that’s because I’m awful at mechanical concepts.

From easiest to hardest (at least the one’s I’ve taken):

AP US History
AP Computer Science
AP English Language
AP European History
AP Calculus BC
AP Chemistry

Scale of 0 to 10 (10 being most difficult, 0 being super easy)

My Classes:
AP English Language - 6 (not terribly difficult, just a lot of reading and writing and stuff)
AP US History - 7 (a lot of work, a lot of responsibilities)
AP Spanish Language - 4 (not that bad, pretty much “Spanish 5”)
AP Psychology - 5 (a LOT of reading, but it’s super interesting so it’s not terribly hard to get through)
AP Physics B - 8 (conceptually tough, a lot of equation manipulations and stuff)

Other Classes:
APES [AP Environmental Science] - 3 or 4 (this class is probably easier than normal high school biology, it’s really not that bad if you know your stuff)
AP US Government - 6 (slightly easier than APUSH, but still a lot of reading and memorizing stuff)
AP English Literature - 8 (tough!! a LOT of really challenging reading and writing)
AP Statistics - 5 (not hard to understand, but a still a lot of work)
AP Biology - 7 (a ton of memorizing stuff, you actually have to think to do well in this class)
AP Chemistry - 8 (a lot of memory, conceptually challenging)
AP Human Geography - 2 (why this is an AP class??? this class is a total joke, the only way you won’t get an A in this class is if you sleep in it)

AP Euro is really hard! I’ve heard AP psyc and environmental are a joke though

We had a ton of homework for AP Euro, so in that sense, the class was pretty hard. There was also a ton of material covered. But everything else was a joke - all our tests were open book and/or with partners - and our teacher was extremely lax with the homework policy.

Can you guys please stop saying that AP Environmental Science is a joke? Clearly it’s not since only 48% of people who took the exam this year got a 3 or above, the lowest percentage among any of the subjects.
