Ap Bio Is Mad Hard Dont Take It!!!

To get a 5 on AP Bio is not very difficult, you just need to get 60-70% right.

I had it, and it wasn't that hard. All you had to do was literally memorize the lecture notes. the test questions came right off there. at least for my class it was, which is known to be hard. Also, the AP BIo test is not much harder than the class.... I didn't study at all for the AP Bio test and blew off my teacher's review and still got a 5.

Lol AP Bio in my school is basically in its first year (my teacher taught it a couple of years ago to 3 kids, and 1 took the test) and it is much easier (so far; knock on wood) than AP Chem is.

I am a junior and I'm taking AP biology this year. A 'friend' of mine said to me me "Are you crazy?! The AP bio teacher is hell smart and it's going to be hard to keep up in class!" I replied "nothing is too hard for anyone in this world."

After a few seconds later, I felt horrified because the 'friend' was right about the hard part, but I was right about nothing is impossible.

I know for sure I will probably do bad if I don't try...

Because I'm in a military boarding school, I'd receive compliments like "don't give up!" or "Man-up and be a soldier!"
It shows encouragement and I take it into my pride of gambling with a hard class.
The teacher I'm having is really really diligent, intelligient, accurate, professional etc. She knows every single dang information and she teaches without textbook!

-ALRIGHT HERE IS THE REAL LOWDOWN ON AP BIOLOGY-
I took AP Biology and guess what, ALL MEMORIZING. TONS OF MEMORIZING. SO much that you will study at least 3 HOURS A DAY! I will guarentee that. Even though I go to a *****TY high school, AP BIo is not a JOKE class. YOu have to be dedicated and patient in this course. The hardest thing in AP Biology is definitely memorizing all the facts for the test. AP Biology isn't for people who are lazy. I don't care if ya'll got a A+ in the class and thought it was the easiest class in history of school, you have to agree, this class is hardcore. The AP test is EASY if you can manage to live through the hell in Ap Biology. It is somewhat of a social-life killer. Even though, like i said, I go to a crappy public high school in los angeles, this class will take up a majority of your study time. It isn't hard if you are on top of the subject. Don't worry, take the class. This is the REAL AP Class people should be taking, not AP Psychology and AP Human Geography because Ap Bio is the class that in my opinion, teaches you HOW TO STUDY and HOW TO MANAGE YOUR TIME.

I know a lot varies by school, and my school is not very difficult, but..

If you are interested in science/biology, take it. AP Bio is the best class I have ever taken. I learned a huge amount, the workload was heavy but not impossible, and it was just a great class. Memorization? I don't know about that..I guess there is some, but it's not just going to be boring lists of vocab--you will learn the words by learning the processes/structures. I got a 4 on the exam. Most of my classmates got 4's or 5's too.
Also, I HATE math and have a lot of difficulty with it. There is very little math in AP Bio--Punnet squares/genetics stuff is usually very simple too. Don't let that worry hold you back.

Yeah, and you only need to get about that much right to pass the California Bar Exam some years. It doesn't mean it's easy, dolt. There's a reason it's CURVED.

My how little the future of America is using their mental faculties.

For the record, I slept through AP Bio class, reviewed before the test, and got a 4 with minimal effort. But I was badass like that.

I loved AP Bio, but then again I'm a bio nerd and we had a great teacher. I thought it was challenging at first to get used to the style of the class (I think I had a B for the first grading period), but then I caught on to how the essays were graded and such and ended up with a high A for the course. And I got a 4 on the exam.

AP Bio is an amazingly hard class u have to study constantly just to get a B+ im taking it right now and it consumes at least an hour and a half a night on average. If your a senior only take 2 ap classes or three at most and make sure they are related to your major ... dont b like those kids who take random ap classes just to feel smart

ap chem is a lot harder than ap bio... but ap bio is pretty tough.

i'm glad you guys aren't putting shame to the class. i got a 4 on the exam and basically it was raw memorization... im not sure how I got an A in the class... i basically stayed up until around 1am reading 400 pages of text for each test.

we had a few tests.. and they were basically 3 - 5 chapters...

we had about 20 kids in the class, so... it was the smallest AP class in the school.

AP Bio is considered to be a really tough class at my school. It involves a lot of effort and work. Expect to devout A LOT of your time to it

Guys, the fact of the matter is this:

The difficulty of the AP class ITSELF depends 100% on the school you attend.

The test is the only constant in this conversation. Discussing the difficulty of the course relative to other offerings at different schools is like cyber sex: You get a good feeling out of it, but ultimately you've accomplished nothing.

UCLAri I like your style of writing. cyber sex hahah. noice

I'm taking AP Biology now (I'm a senior)...the class is pretty difficult (especially those damn tests...I keep getting C's)...but I think the biochemistry portion is what's messing me up...I have a bad chem background because my chemistry teacher sucked...but I love cell biology and molecular biology...I want to major in Bio...that's why I'm taking the class...but my AP English class has a WAY heavier workload...

Don't worry, getting a little f'ed over in AP Bio by no means excludes you from becoming a successful bio major.

The test itself isn't too tough. Some schools seem to like making the class insane though.

::shrug::

The difficulty in AP Biology is mainly covering through the massive amount of material that COULD be covered on the exam.

It's not hard, per se, it just requires you to really memorize a lot of concepts and ideas and be able to apply what you have memorized in any situation necessary.
